About Me

My photo
I married my best friend Drew on August 11, 2007. Together, we have two dogs, two fish, a cat, and one big renovation. But our biggest love is raising our two beautiful daughters, Hadley and Piper. Life's busy and quite an adventure!

Completed Nursery

We finally got the chandelier up in the nursery, and it's on a dimmer, which makes it nice for late night feedings and diaper changes.

We also got the rocker in her room and it's soooo comfortable. Thanks Grandma Millie!

One Month!

Hadley is a month old, and growing! Newborn clothes are starting to get tight...soon to be in 0-3. Unfortunately, we think she has colic. Every night around 7:00, she starts crying and screaming for about 3-4 hours, and several times throughout the day. It's rough on mom and dad! On the plus side, we're heading to Oregon tomorrow to see family, and I'm really excited to introduce her to everyone!

Kickin' it.

Two Week Appointment

This week, little miss Hadley had her two week appointment. When she was seen three days after her birth, she had lost a little weight and weighed in at 6 lbs. 12 oz. This week, she gained a full pound and weighed in at 7 lbs. 12 oz. Her pediatrician said she's doing great.

This picture cracks me up and actually reminds me a little of a deranged bunny....

All bundled up and ready to go on her first walk outside. We went about two miles and the motion of the stroller put her right to sleep.

This is her enjoying her time in her swing, precious.

Hadley's First Two Weeks

Hadley's umbilical cord fell off today, so she got her first big girl bath. She didn't cry and actually seemed to like it :)

Had to try the girly bow.

Taking naps!

Nekid baby

Happy (tired) family.

Hadley Mae is here!

This was taken on 2/23/10 at around 8:30 a.m. right before the doctor broke my water, to make me "a little more uncomfortable." Nice. At 10:00 I was at 6 cm, by 11:00 I was fully dilated. Again...not real comfortable. After pushing for 2 1/2 hours, Hadley Mae Johnson made her entrance at 7 lbs, 6 1/2 oz. and 20 inches long.

Proud daddy :)

Hadley's first picture, chubby cheeks and all ;)

First picture of her eyes open.

Getting ready to go home.

Changing baby's diaper...he's going to be a pro!

All dressed up to go home.

Finally home, and resting peacefully.

Getting ready to leave for her first doctor's appointment.

She doesn't mind the car seat.

Checking things out!

We are all doing great, and adjusting to life with a newborn. Thank you everyone for your well wishes!

Valentine's Day & The Best Husband, Ever!

Feb. 13th, we were supposed to go to the hospital to be induced. We thought the 3rd time would be charm....it wasn't. I was very disappointed and sad, we just want to meet our baby girl! So, on our way from the hospital, Drew told me to reach into the glove box, where I found this cute little blue box ;)

He said it was meant to be a gift for when Hadley was born, it was "the key to my heart". I can't believe how sweet and thoughtful he is! I'm very lucky and love him so much!

Even though our induction was a big fat FAIL, we did get to see the baby on ultrasound. The first thing we saw was her cute little face...and her nose. Drew said, "yep, she's got your nose." Poor little thing. The US tech measured her weight at about 6 1/2 lbs. There is a +/- 1 lb. error on these, so she is anywhere between 5 1/2 and 7 1/2 lbs. Not bad for someone with gestational diabetes :)

Good Lord...Let This be the Last Belly Pic!!

Alright, this was taken Saturday at 38 weeks, just before we left for St. Joe's for our amnio, in hopes that we wouldn't be back home again without a baby. The amnio was to ensure that the baby's lungs were mature, and if they were, the doctor was going to induce me this same day. The test results came back "equivocal", meaning that she really could have induced, but somewhere between the time we left the house and when we arrived at the hospital, they got 4 other women in labor and the doctor ended up in an emergency C-section. It was decided that we should wait. So, we left Lewiston, baby-less, yet again :(
On the other hand, we got a phone call from the Dr. this morning saying that she would like to induce on Wednesday, so...we'll try not to get our hopes up and see how that goes. We are on pins and needles, here!
