About Me

My photo
I married my best friend Drew on August 11, 2007. Together, we have two dogs, two fish, a cat, and one big renovation. But our biggest love is raising our two beautiful daughters, Hadley and Piper. Life's busy and quite an adventure!

Jammies

There are some days that you just don't want to get dressed.  Today was one of those days.  I'll be honest.  We were in our jammies today.  All day.  No shame.  It's one of my last days home with the girls before I have to go back to work from maternity leave.  I'm lucky that I only have to go back part time, but I'll miss being home with them everyday.  But, I'm also looking forward to seeing all my coworkers again too.  Maybe I'll try to be a productive member of society once more, instead of a scrub who hangs out all day in jammies....

So...what do you do when it's freezing cold outside?  You stay inside and put scribbled on sticky notes "art" on mom's freshly-washed windows.  Don't want mom to get bored either.

Piper has discovered the jumper, and I'm thrilled that she likes it.  Hands free for 15 minute stretches = awesome.

Play-Doh...

I just wanted to express my gratitude to Uncle Chazz and Nicole for the 50+ containers of play-doh Hadley received for Christmas...it's awesome to find little dried out pieces ALL over my house all the time.  Haddie's really been enjoying it.
She likes to play with it while wearing sunglasses.  These were taken last night...i wear my sunglasses at night...you know you wanna sing it.

Haddie vs. play-doh.

If all else fails...bite it.

Yeah.  I'm taking your picture.  Keeping it forever, ya play-doh monster.

Christmas 2012

This year we had Christmas Eve and Christmas at our home in Idaho for the first time since the Mr. and I have been together.  It was bittersweet.  We've always spent Christmas with my family in Oregon, so this is the first time I've not been with them during this special time.  But, we did get to skype on Christmas morning so nana and papa got to watch everyone open presents.  And, I have to admit it was pretty cool to get to start our own traditions too...not to mention not having to worry about the stress of traveling.

Momma and baby.

Aunt Nini helping bug with her new necklace.

This kid was so spoiled for Christmas!  She really mastered tearing into the presents this year.

Aunt Kalee giving a helping hand.

Baby girl in her party dress.  She's thrilled.  I can tell.

Oh-my-gosh-it's-brave-i-need-to-watch-it-RIGHT-now!!!

The obligatory creepy walking, talking doll that all little girls love.

....and a gun!  You know you're becoming an Idahoan when your two year old gets a pink BB gun for Christmas and is thrilled about it...and your motherly instincts struggle between excitement and "WTH, my kid has a gun?!?"  You'll shoot your eye out, you'll shoot your eye out...anyone?

And a bike!  Minnie of course.  'Cuz it's not cool unless it has Minnie Mouse on it.

Two Months

Piper is two months now and growing like a weed.  She just had her two month appointment and weighed 12.8 lbs, putting her in the 87th percentile for weight and 76th for height.  Healthy girl :)  She also continues to be colicky.  Her pediatrician says we can expect it to continue until she's three months.    Don't worry doc, we got this.  We're pros.  At least Bug prepared us for this.

The Wait...

Bug is so excited for Christmas, she says "Merry Christmas" everyday, and makes sure she hugs the Christmas tree too.  She saw Mrs. Claus today and got some candy canes (those didn't last long).
